Breastfeeding Diaries: 18 weeks in and things are pinchy

18 weeks in and things are pinchy. Not pinchy like my nipples hurt pinch, but more like, ACTUALLY LIKE PINCHING. Four months old and Declan’s newest skill is discovering that everything feels different. And that along with that difference comes the different noises it all makes when he scratches on it or crinkles it up. This new talent has transformed his nursing times from a nice smooth palm slide over the top of my breast to outright torture.

I love breastfeeding now, yes it takes time, yes my day goes on pause almost ever 3 hours but it truly is worth it. The addition of wrangling tiny fingers has me wincing and laughing at the same time. All the scratching, grabbing and yes pinching has given me an additional reason to stay on top of his nail trimming.
